Alternative Surface Decontamination Solutions

ATI offers state-of-the-art disinfection using ultraviolet mobile units as an alternative to achieve surface decontamination. Used and recommended by the US Army, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) is established as the optimal way to disinfect large industrial and commercial areas.  This green technology minimizes waste disposal, reduces carbon footprint, and is an environmentally friendly way to achieve clean.

The Science Behind It

UVGI is a disinfection procedure that utilizes short wavelength ultraviolet light to kill or inactivate spores, viruses, bacteria, and various fungi. UVGI technology relies on UV-C energy, which holds less of a threat to human health than the well-known UV-A or UV-B from natural sunlight.

Efficient and Effective

Compact, mobile, and easy to move, UVGI decontaminates viruses, bacteria, mold, and spores achieving a 3 log kill in the air, water, and on surfaces. Dependent on the microorganism’s exposure time to UV (as well as UV radiation wavelength and intensity), maximum effectiveness is reached through repetitive cycles through air or water.

Targeted Areas of Exposure

Recommended for places with an increased chance of infection or crowded locations, especially with an unknown health status, UVGI is used for isolating diseases and biodefense systems in buildings. It’s high effectiveness and ease of use means occupant health is protected without introduction of potentially harsh chemicals to vulnerable human populations.

UVGI & HEPA-Filtered HVAC Systems

UVGI is recommended in spaces with insufficient or no mechanical HVAC systems, or where adequate natural ventilation cannot be maintained year-round. While high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters are excellent at achieving similar results to UVGI sanitation for airborne viruses, bacteria, or fungal spores, UVGI can be a complimentary assurance.
